Yarchei Kallah 2022
The Mir Yarchei Kallah is a known phenomenon in the yeshiva world, its fast growth from a humble beginning of eighteen men to a group of over 400 participants, and its unbelievable amenities both beruchniyos and begashmiyos, has made it into an experience growing people feel they must experience. Some participants are alumni returning to their home at the Mir, others are parents, in-laws, or friends who became part of the Mir, and those, who until the Yarchei Kallah had no connection to the yeshiva, but are now part of the Mir family.
Men from all over the USA and Canada put aside their routines, families, and businesses from November 20th to November 24th and became yeshiva bochrim again, fully immersed in learning and kedusha all day. A full first seder in Iyun followed by a shiur, an afternoon seder in halacha followed by a shiur, and an evening schmooze on varying relevant topics such as chinuch, shalom bayis, and emuna among others. On the side was the daf yomi shiur. Shiurim given by the Roshei Yeshiva and Rebbeim of the Mir as well as guest speakers.
To get even more into the week, the tzibbur went together to daven at the kosel, davened at Kever Rochel with a special tefilla led by Moreinu Hamashgiach shlita, and a special, round-table question-and-answer with the Moreinu Rosh Hayeshiva.
In the late evening there was still more on the agenda in the special Mir tearoom in the Plaza hotel. A place to relax and connect with other participants, speeches on interesting topics provided yet another view of the Mir.
Even on the way back to the airport there was another inspirational booster squeezed in, with a visit to Hagaon Harav Moshe Sternbuch shlita, to receive a bracha and hear divrei chizuk.
The feedback from many participants expresses it best. “The best week of my year,” “It recharged me enough for the whole year,” and “I wish there would be more Yarchei Kallahs throughout the year, it will be so hard to wait a full year to do this again”. Sentiments conveyed by participants, ensuring that with siyatta dishmaya the Yarchei Kallah continues to grow and evolve.
