Toronto Alumni Leil Shishi
Toronto’s Young Alumni Leil Shishi was introduced this year as a transformation of the traditional Young Alumni Breakfast. The event was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Yerachmiel Heitner; the Young Leadership Committee did a great job networking and bringing in a large crowd. Everyone enjoyed the warm, relaxed atmosphere and the apropos Thursday night menu while they reminisced and relived the Mir. Hagaon Harav Binyomin Carlebach Shlita arrived at about 10:15; he addressed the attendees as Mir talmidim by underscoring the importance of cherishing their personal learning and by committing to write down a Torah chiddush or good vort on a regular basis.“Everyone was very excited about the change of venue; it was much more relaxed than the breakfast,” said Mitch Zolty, the Young Alumni Leadership Awardee at the Yeshiva’s recent Dinner. “I think it was very special that the whole olam was able to get together with Rav Binyomin, schmooze with him, and hear his inspiring message.”In his closing remarks, Shmuel Zimmerman described the cumulative effect of joint volunteerism, and how everyone can be a part of the Mir army by standing behind the Mir in their own way.
