Early Start of the New Zman
With Klal Yisroel needing extra zechusim due to the situation in Eretz Yisroel, the hanhalla decided to cut bein-hazmanim short and begin the new zman immediately after Yom Tov. Additionally, this would demonstrate that the bnei Hayeshiva were ‘doing their part for the war-effort’!
Since the chedorim for the younger boys were closed due to safety concerns, avreichim were encouraged to bring along their sons to Yeshiva; a special learning program was arranged just for them, at the home of the Rosh Hayeshiva zt”l.
During the week leading up to Rosh Chodesh, the entire Yeshiva was learning the same limud. For second seder, a special limud in Hilchos Shabbos was designated, in keeping with the Rosh Hayeshiva’s words that Shmiras Shabbos is a powerful shmira for everyone. Each day, there was a sichas chizuk given by the Mashgiach Shlita and others.
The talmidim had a daily seder mussar from the sefer of Rav Shimshon Pincus; on Thursday night, the son of Rav Pincus spoke, sharing divrei chizuk.
The Yeshiva is taking care of the families at home as well. The avreichim’s wives can listen to regular scheduled chizuk calls on a special hotline from Rebbetzin Finkel and other inspiring speakers.
