Toronto Shabbos of Chizuk
During Shabbos Shuva, Parshas Vayeilech, the greater Toronto community was privileged to host Harav Hagaon Yosef Elefant Shlita. Everyone was uplifted by the incredibly beautiful and inspiring atmosphere that seemed to follow Rav Elefant wherever he went. On Friday night, he davened and spoke at Bais Medrash Ahavas Torah. Following the seuda, he participated in an Oneg Shabbos at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chezky Weiss. On Shabbos morning, he joined the kehilla of Bais Medrash Shoavei Mayim. After giving a Shabbos afternoon Drasha at JEP, he went to Khal Toras Chesed for Mincha and Shalosh Seudos. On Motzei Shabbos, he addressed a community-wide Kinnus Hisorerus at the Bais Yaakov Elementary School. The next morning, he spoke at the Thornhill Kollel. Toronto is home to many Mir talmidim and alumni, a large majority of which have a strong personal connection with Rav Elefant. His renowned clarity and penetrating insight on issues of the day provided refreshing and much-needed chizuk just before Yom Kippur.
