Purim
This year, the Mir held an additional megillah leining, aside from the leining in Mercazi. The second leining was held in Bais Yeshaya in order to enable bochurim to already be in their regular seats and begin a learning seder immediately after megillah. In Mercazi too, there were bochurim who learned after megillah. There was a shtark limud Hatorah in the Yeshiva on an evening when learning often falls to the wayside with the Purim festivities. Following the hour-and-a-half seder in Bais Yeshaya, there was a delicious seuda catered by the Yeshiva, complete with meat and wine, attended by the Rosh Hayeshiva and the Rabbeim. Harav Binyomin Cohen Shlita spoke during the seuda providing hisorerus for the bochurim. There was also leibedige dancing accompanied by live music, that went on for hours with a real Purim ruach.
Despite the late and exhausting night, there was a vasikin minyan in Bais Yeshaya followed by another seder limud which was, incredibly, attended by over four-hundred talmidim! Another minyan was held at the regular time in Bais Medrash Mercazi. The atmosphere and feeling felt by everyone was one of הדר קבלוה באהבה.
