Elul Zman Begins Early
In the wake of the severe tragedies that befell Klal Yisroel during the summer, the new z’man began early this year. The thousands of bochurim and avreichim in Yeshiva, who were scheduled to return to the Beis Medrash on Sunday, the first of Elul, like all other yeshivos around the world, responded to the call of the Rosh Hayeshiva shlita, and arrived on Thursday. The regular bus transportation to Yeshiva began operating to accommodate the early start.
The Rosh Yeshiva’s plea was announced on special posters proclaiming that the proper response to the calamities is to strengthen our davening and learning. The Yeshiva, of course, was directly impacted by the recent tragedies – the horrific bus accident on Rechov Shamgar took the lives of the daughter-in-law and granddaughters of HaGaon HaRav Yisroel Glustein shlita, one of the Roshei Yeshiva and son-in-law of the Rosh Hayeshiva
HaGaon HaRav Beinush zatzal.
